Coaster Collection - Magnum XL200

The Ride
Cedar Point kept with it's tradition of being the Roller Coaster Capital of The World, when they added Magnum XL200 in 1989. The coaster was the tallest, fastest, and longest when it was built. Some of those records now belong to it's big brother Millennium Force. Designer Arrow Dynamics has since built a copy of Magnum, as Pepsi Max Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Arrow successfully drew attention to Cedar Point and opened the record books for being the first coaster to carry it's riders to 200 feet.

The Experience
Riders board one of the Arrow hyper trains and round a 90 degree turn and onto the lift hill. The chain carries the rider over the street, a parking lot, and the waterpark, before it crests the top of the hill. The train races down the 20 story drop and up and over another hill, through a tunnel, and then it's through the unique turn around. It's two 270 degree helixes to the left. Then the Magnum rolls through a few camel humps. As the train goes through the first tunnel, don't forget to smile and then it's into the bright sunlight. Then through another tunnel and then into a few turns. Then the train cruises back into the station.
