The Ride
In 1996 Busch Gardens Tampa Bay decided to build a coaster that would be a record holder. B&M was hired to construct the coaster, and Montu was born. Montu held most of the records worth holding, and still does today. Montu stole the record from Cedar Point's Raptor, and everyone knows it's hard to take a record from Cedar Point. With a coaster like Montu, BGT will always have a place in the record books.
The Experience
Riders board the inverted trains and take a 90 degree turn right over a pit of live crocodiles. The train climbs to the top of the 15 story lift and then dives down the 180 degree curving drop. At the bottom riders are thrown through a vertical loop and into an immelman. A zero-g-roll leads the train into the unique double boomerang. After the blocking brake the train goes into another section of trenches. Then it's through a 67 foot vertical loop, and into a tunnel and a flat spin. Then it's into the final brakes.
