The Ride
Six Flags Magic Mountain has always been known for producing extreme coasters. When track was seen in the storage lot for the park rumors circulated that the new coaster would be an exact copy of Six Flags Marine World and Great Adventure's Medusa. Then on November 14, 2002 Six Flags Magic Mountain made the announcement that their new coaster would be a floorless coaster design from the Swiss coaster engineers Bolliger and Mabillard. SCREAM will have seven inversion within 3,985 feet of yellow and blue track. With coasters like X, the first 4D, Deja Vu, the tallest and fastest inverted shuttle, Superman The Escape, the first coaster to reach 100 mph, Viper, the world's tallest looping coaster, Colossus, the tallest wooden coaster on the west coaster, The Riddler's Revenge, the tallest and fastest stand-up in the world, and Revolution, the worlds first 360 degree looping coaster. Scream with definatly be able to compete with SFMM other xtreme rides.
The Experience
Riders board SCREAM an strap themselves into the floorless coaster cars. Then they begin their climb up to the 150 summit. At the top, SCREAM wastes no time and launches riders down and through a 128 foot Vertical Loop. Without time to rest they plunge into a 90 foot Dive Loop, followed by a Heartline Camelback designed to give riders the feeling of flying. The train are then launched into a Cobra Roll, putting them 78 feet above the California soil. Next it's a plunge down a sharp turn and dive into a 90 degree helix. SCREAM roars over a Speed Hill and enters the two interlocking corkscrews that make up the finale. The final element lies ahead. The trains crest the final speed hill and roll into the brakes.
This ride is bound to make you SCREAM.
