Coaster Collection - Wildcat

The Ride
"The Cat is Back." That's announcement Hershey Park's V.P. made on June 30, 1995. The new coaster would be a cyclone coaster derived from the Coney Island years. It would also have the same name as Hershey's first coaster the Wildcat. The new ride would kick off the new Midway America section. CGI was hired to build the project. The coaster was completed on schedule and opened on May 25, 1996. It was an instant hit, and a great addition to Hershey Park.

The Experience
As riders approach the queve line entrance they notice that CGI spent as much time on that as they did the ride. Riders board one of two red PTC coaster trains. The trains drift out of the station and around a curve and the chain picks up. The cars are pulled to the top of the 105 foot lift hill and then they drop down a 85 foot cyclone style drop. The ride goes through or over itself 20 times during the entire course. The rides goes through the last unexpected turn and into the brake run.
