The Ride
Sea World of Texas's second coaster is also the southwest's first hyper coaster. The ride conveniently named to fit the park, with it's yellow track and teal supports really adds a lot to this park. Adding coasters to the Sea World parks was a great idea to boost attendance. 3,700 feet of track are visible in the distance as you walk through the whole park, just tempting you to ride it.
The Experience
As you board the teal and yellow hypercoaster cars you can see the massive lift hill ahead of you. The cars start out of the station and up the lift hill to the 15 story first drop. The coaster starts down the hill at a 60 degree angle, reaching a speed of 65 mph. Riders then climb two hills linked together. After that they careen into a downward helix to complete the turnaound section. Next it's through a series of three rabbit hops with the first one being the tallest. The eel covers 3,700 feet of track in two minutes while you are pushing 3.5 G's.
The eel is electrifying and a great addition to Sea World of Texas.
