Coaster Collection - Skyliner
The Skyliner

The Ride
The Skyliner was originally built in 1985 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company for New York's Roseland Park. Unfortunately in 1985 the park folded and the rides were sold off. Anthony Forgion once the owner of Lakemont Park, while it was under the name of Boyertown USA, bought the coaster and moved it to the park for the 1987 season. The move was credited as on off the first coasters to be totally dismantled and moved to another park. The time the coaster had spent in trucks took it's toll and when it came time to reconstruct the coaster it was in to bad of shape to rebuild. The coaster was modified and totally reconstructed out of new treated lumber. The modified version of the coaster was opened to the public for the 1987 season.

The Experience
Riders board the PTC purple and green coaster train and embark up the 60 foot lift hill. It's not really a high lift hill, but the angle of the first drop makes up for it. The coaster takes a small dip and starts down the first drop, which is banked at a steep angle. The train climbs to the top of the second hill, make a 180 degree turn, and then down another steep drop and around the side of the coaster on a banked turn. The trains then falls down a hidden drop along the side off the coaster. The trains rises again and around another sharp turn right above the station house. Then another turn into the camelback section of the ride. The train goes over two camelbacks separated by a banked turns. Then into the station brakes.
