Coaster Collection - Son of Beast

The Ride
In 1999 a massive beast rose at Paramount's King's Island. The much awaited sequel to the popular Beast opened to the public in April of 2000. The son claims the tallest and fastest wooden coaster record, it's also the first wooden coaster with a vertical loop. Designed by Roller Coaster Corporation of America, it was a constant problem until the track was fixed. With a height of 218 feet, this baby boy raises proudly above the trees of PKI, along side it's proud father.

The Experience
Riders board the ride after walking through a cleverly built entrance. The trains climb the 218 foot lift hill and after a sharp turn the ride plunges down the 214 foot first drop. After speeding through an incline helix, and a quick braking section, the ride hits the Son of Beast's most talked about element. The vertical loop turns riders head over heel, and into a helix and a clover shaped maneuver. This ride is something that any father should be proud of.
