The Ride
In 1996 King's Dominion and Premier Rides jumped into the mix of coasters with the new LIM launched coaster design. The Outer Limits Flight of Fear, now know as just Flight of Fear opened on June 18, 1996 and was one of the first crazy twister versions of LIM launched coasters. The Mad Cobra as shown in the diagram to the left shows you what the designs are like.
The Experience
Riders start  out by making their way through a hanger filled with alien spacecraft. Making their way through a spacecraft they find the boarding station for Flight of Fear. Once the lap bar is secure riders are launched into darkness. They speed through a cobra roll and into more crazy inversions. Riders reach the highest point and then they go into the downward section of twists and turns. They hit the figure 8 and into the last corkscrew, to end the ride.
