The Ride
Amusement Parks have always tried to build rides that are suitable for all their guests, but it was impossible to build a thrilling coaster that small children could ride. On April 7, 2001 Paramount's Kings Island changed all of that when they released their new inverted family coaster called Rugrats Ranaway Reptar. The release of this Vekoma family-style inverted coaster gave King's Island the record for having the most below track coasters. King's Island also gained the record of having the most junior coasters in a park with Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster, Top Cat's Taxi Jam, and Beastie.
The Experience
Guests begin the journey to the loading platform, but on their way they walk by Rugrat's theming including a statue of the Rugrat's favorite person, Reptar. Riders make their way to the station and board the coaster's yellow and green, 9-car inverted trains. After the yellow harnesses are secure the trains begin their climb to the 52 foot summit. Once the train reaches the top it navigates a series of spiraling helixes twisting downward. The trains then make a quick turn to the right towards the lift hill. Then the riders experience a diving helix that takes them downward towards the ride's queue lines, and ends with an S-formation that takes them to the right, then to the left, and then into the brake run. The trains disengages from the brakes and makes a 135 degree turn back into the station.
