The Ride
Branson Misouri's Silver Dollar City debuted it's first major scream machine. Wildfire is another successful product of the coaster manufacturer B&M. Wildfire's speed and inversions mixed with Silver Dollar City's lush landscape and scenary make for a high speed thrill ride that tops their 1998 attraction, Buzzsaw Falls. Wildfire ride is themed around the tale of the Ozarkian inventor Dr. Horatio Harris. Wildfire is the product of his experiments as riders are launced across the Ozark Mountains with his invention, Wildfire Fuel.
The Experience
As guest enter the queve line they find that they are walking throught the inside of a laboritory. Riders walk into the station of Wildfire and board on of two 32 seat trains. The ride starats with a 180 degree turn out of the station, and the chain lift picks the train up. The trains reach the 15 story summit and begin the twisted drop. Riders then head through a giant diving loop, then cruising immediatly into the rides vertical loop. Then the cars roll into a patented B&M element, the double cobra roll. The trains make a wide banked turn followed by a flat spin. The final element riders experience is the carousel curve and then the brakes end the ride.
This coaster is Silver Dollar City's biggest ride since it opened. Maybe there will be a string of coaster for them in the very near future.
