The Ride
After seeing the success of Cedar Point's Mantis Kentucky Kingdom, now Six Flags Kentucky Kindgom, wanted  a stand-up coaster of their own. In the spring of 1997 Kentucky Kingdom opened the world's tallest, fastest, and longest stand-up coaster. This B&M creation named Chang is a basic recreation of Mantis's layout, but it's taller, faster, longer, and adds another inversion to flip riders. Chang takes riders to speeds in excess to 60 mph within 4,155 feet of track. Chang definatly has opened up the coaster world for small parks.

The Experience
Riders board the sleek B&M stand-up trains and strap themselves in with an over-the-shoulder harness. From there they embark up a lift hill that's at least another story higher than Mantis. The trains round a 180 degree turn and with a small dip are plummeting over the 150 foot drop. The trains head through a vertical loop, and then through a diving loop. A small helix follows with the incline loop. Chang makes a quick turn and into a mid-course braking section. Riders then roll into the final section of the ride. This mayhem of twists and turns consist of twists, turns, and two flat spins. Then the trains meet the braking section for an end to a edge-of-your seat ride.
