Intamin AG is a leading manufacturer in amusement rides. They invented the River Rapids and also hold many amusement titles, which include first coaster to reach 100 mph, first coaster with 8 inversion, first coaster with 10 inversion, first full-circuit coaster to reach 300 ft tall, first launched inverted coaster, first plug and play wooden coaster track, and first full circuit coaster to reach 400 ft tall.
Intamin AG has an extensive product line, ranging from Giga Coasters to flat rides. Intamin's giga coaster has gotten a lot of praise lately. I'm talking about Millennium Force at Cedar Point. Millennium Force stands at 300 ft tall and reaches speeds near 100 mph. Millennium Force has an ingenius lift hill. It uses a cable lift instead of the conventional chain lift. This is one of Intamin AG's greatest achievements.
The Reverse Freefall is also another great achievement of Intamin. The trains are launched at just under 100 mph using LIMs. The cars excelerate in under 7 seconds and climb the 400 ft vertical tower. The maximum distance that all cars reach are 375 ft. These rides can be heavily themed and are very popular in America and Australia. Even though Tower of Terror was the first one, Superman was the first one opened to the public.
The newest ride sensation from Intamin is the impulse coaster. This U-shaped ride blasts trains out of the station using LSMs. The trains go up a vertical twist. They fall backwards and the trains are pushed faster by the LSMs, up a vertical spike. It repeats the circuit 3 times, before being slowed by the LSMs. It's compact layout fits almost anywhere. Linear Gale opened in 1999, Superman The Ultimate Escape opened in 2000, V2: Vertical Velocity opened in 2001, and Wicked Twister and V2 opened in
2002.
Intamin AG has many other coaster designs that are very popular. They are the Mega Coaster, Rocket Coaster, 8/10 Inversion Coaster, Suspended Looping Coaster, Suspended Catapult Coaster, Mine Train, Indoor Coaster, Family Coaster, LIM Out and Back Looper, Looper, Wooden Out and Back Twister, Wooden Plug and Play, Stand-up, Shuttle Loops & Revolution, Hairpin Dive, and the Spiral Coaster.
Intamin AG has also built many water rides which include the River Plunge, the Flume Ride, the Rapids Ride, Reversing Boat Ride, Spillwater, Tow Boat Ride, and the Dark Water Ride. Many flat rides have also been created by Intamin AG.
